چکیده
IEEE 802.16 standard supports point-to-multipoint (PMP) and Mesh topologies. This paper proposes a quality of service (QoS) mechanism for IEEE 802.16 in PMP mode and a base station (BS) scheduler for PMP mode. It also describes the QoS over WiMAX networks. The average WiMAX delay, load, and throughput at the BS were analyzed and compared by applying different schedulers at the BS and fixed nodes. Performance Analysis of QoS in PMP Mode WiMax Networks
IEEE 802.16 standard supports two different topologies: point to multipoint (PMP) and Mesh. In this paper, a QoS mechanism for point to multipoint of IEEE 802.16 and BS scheduler for PMP Mode is proposed. This paper also describes quality of service over WiMAX networks. Average WiMAX delay, Average WiMAX load and Average WiMAX throughput at base station is analyzed and compared by applying diff...

Multi-hop relay based WiMAX is one of the proposed solutions to address the problem of capacity and coverage expansion in the developing and under-developed regions of the world. Compared with the Point to Multi-Point (PMP) based communication; the mesh mode of WiMAX can provide better coverage, bandwidth, flexibility and scalability. Studies indicate that in rural communities, voice calls and ...
متن کاملJoint Routing and Bandwidth Allocation Protocol for Ieee 802.16 Wimax Mesh Networks
In the recent years, the web and VoIP services has motivated the development of new broadband access technologies due to the increased demands for faster connection [12]. For the upcoming generation, IEEE 802.16 standard, WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access Forum) has become the most potential wireless access technology. WiMAX uses a common MAC protocol to incorporate the set...

Based on the work from the IEEE Working Group 802.16 and ETSI HiperMAN Working Group, the WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) technology is defined by the WiMAX Forum to support fixed and mobile broadband wireless access. In the standard (IEEE 802.16 standard, 2009), it defines several air interface variants, including WirelessMAN-SC, WirelessMAN-OFDM, WirelessMAN-OFDMA and ...
متن کاملImproving QoS Of WiMAX By On_Demand Bandwidth Allocation Based On PMP Mode
The bandwidth allocation in both wired and wireless networks has posed great challenges to network engineers for improving desirable Quality of Service (QoS), Bandwidth allocation is always an important element for improve QoS of network. Despite this, IEEE 802.16e-2005 does not have a bandwidth allocation algorithm or mechanism to support (worldwide interoperability for microwave access) WiMAX...
